The Bend City Council approved placing a Bend Fire & Rescue operating levy on the May 2023 ballot. Fire Chief Todd Riley told the council that calls for service had grown about 60% since voters last set the levy rate in 2014, and that levy funding would primarily sustain and grow department staffing.
